Packers Waive/Injured DB David Rivers, Sign CB Daquan Holmes

The Green Bay Packers officially waived DB David Rivers with an injury designation Wednesday to make room for CB Daquan Holmes.

Should Rivers clear waivers on Thursday, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

Holmes wound up going undrafted out of Americal International a few months ago. He actually worked out for the Packers during their rookie minicamp but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.

During his college career, Holmes recorded 108 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 34 pass defenses, a fumble recovery and 14 interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns over the course of three years and 29 games.
