The Packers officially waived TE Kennard Backman and C Jacob Flores from injured reserve with settlements.
Backman, 23, wound up being drafted in the sixth round of last year’s draft out of UAB. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he was waived with an injury designation last week as the Packers cut their roster down to 75 players.
After clearing waivers, Backman was added to the Packers’ practice squad.
In 2015, Backman appeared in seven games for the Packers, but did not record a single reception.
