The Carolina Panthers announced that DE Frank Alexander has been reinstated from suspension and they have received a roster exemption.

Alexander had just got done serving a four-game suspension for violating league’s substance-abuse policy before he was once again suspended for another 10 games for the same violation.

Alexander, 24, was taken by the Panthers in the fourth-round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He still has two years remaining on his four-year, $2.57 million rookie contract. Alexander has base salaries of $570,000 and $660,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

Last year, he appeared in 12 games and totaled 15 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for Carolina. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 239 snaps, but received a below-average rating, despite being decent run-defender.
