The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve designated S Juston Burris to return from injured reserve.
The Panthers also activated RB Reggie Bonnafon from the practice squad injured list and signed DT Woodrow Hamilton to their practice squad while releasing K Taylor Bertolet and DT Mike Panasiuk from the unit.
Hereโs the Panthers updated practice squad:
- RB Reggie Bonnafon
- DT Bruce Hector
- G Mike Horton
- WR Ishmael Hyman
- DB Natrell Jamerson
- WR Marken Michel
- LB Chris Orr
- TE Giovanni Ricci
- OL Matt Kaskey
- LB Clay Johnston
- G Aaron Monteiro
- RB Rodney Smith
- WR Sheldon Gibson
- TE Seth DeValve
- C Sam Tecklenburg
- DT Woodrow Hamilton
This opens a three-week window of time for the Panthers to activate Burris from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.
Burris, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jets back in 2016 out of NC State. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.89 million contract when the Jets waived in 2018.
The Jets re-signed Burris to their practice squad after he cleared waivers but eventually joined the Browns not long after. Cleveland elected to re-sign him to a one-year, $645,000 deal last year.
From there, Burris signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the Panthers this past March.
In 2020, Burris has appeared in six games for the Panthers and recorded 24 tackles, one interception and two passes defended.
