Panthers Forced To Release Practice Squad K Lirim Hajrullahu Due To Work Visa Issue

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Panthers have been informed that they have to release practice squad K Lirim Hajrullahu because of an issue with his work visa.

Pelissero adds that Hajrullahu, who was born in Kosovo, is hoping to return to the NFL in 2021.

Here’s the Panthers updated practice squad:

  3. WR Ishmael Hyman (COVID-19, Injured)
  4. WR Marken Michel
  5. TE Giovanni Ricci
  6. OL Matt Kaskey
  7. LB Clay Johnston

  9. C Sam Tecklenburg
  10. DT Mike Panasiuk
  11. QB Tommy Stevens
  12. DE Jonathan Wynn
  13. LB Daniel Bituli
  14. DB Sean Chandler
  15. WR Shelton Gibson
  16. WR Amara Darboh

Hajruhallu, 30, has kicked and punted in the CFL since 2014, including stints with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Hajruhallu worked out for the Seahawks last January but ultimately returned to the CFL. The Rams signed him to a contract in April only to waive him coming out of training camp. 

From there, Hajruhallu signed on to the Panthers’ practice squad. 

In 2019, Hajruhallu made 47-55 field goal attempts (85.5 percent) with a long of 56 yards for the Tiger-Cats. He also punted 106 times with a 43.1 average and a long of 62 yards.
