Panthers veteran LB Thomas Davis announced via Twitter that the team has informed him that they plan to move on from him this offseason.

Davis, 35, is a former first-round pick of the Panthers back in 2005. He was in the final year of his three-year, $18 million contractย that includesย $11.5 million guaranteed when he and the Panthers agreed to aย one-year, $6.75 million extension through 2018.
Davis will be an unrestricted free agent this March.
In 2017, Davis appeared in 12 games and recorded 79 tackles, no sacks, two fumble recoveries and six pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 19 linebacker out of 93 qualifying players.
