The Carolina Panthers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed TE Greg Olsen on injured reserve and promoted WR Mose Frazier to their active roster.
The Panthers also signed WR DeAndrew White and S Kai Nacua to their practice squad and released CB Josh Thornton from the unit.
Hereโs the Panthers updated practice squad:
- RB Reggie Bonnafon
- TE Jason Vander Laan
- G Taylor Hearn
- OL Dorian Johnson
- CB Cole Luke
- LB Brandon Chubb
- QB Kyle Allen
- WR DeAndrew White
- S Kai Nacua
On Sunday, Olsen ruptured his plantar fascia and later told reporters that his season was likely over, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.
Olsen, 33, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2007. He played four years for Chicago before he was traded to the Panthers in 2011.
Olsen was in the final year of a four-year, $27.75 million contract and is set to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season when he agreed to a two-year extension worth $8.55 million back in April.
In 2018, Olsen has appeared in nine games for the Panthers and caught 27 passes for 291 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
