Panthers Place Centers Ryan Kalil & Gino Gradkowski On Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed centers Ryan Kalil (shoulder) and Gino Gradkowski (knee) on injured reserve.

Kalil, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Panthers back in 2007. He’s currently in the first year of his three-year, $24.5 million contract that included $13 million guaranteed.

Kalil stands to make base salaries of $2 million and $3 million over the next two seasons.

In 2016, Kalil appeared in eight games for the Panthers and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 15 center out of 37 qualifying players.

Gradkowski, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. The Panthers signed Gradkowski to a three-year, $3.15 million contract this past March and he stands to make base salaries of $775,000 and $875,000 over the next two years.

In 2016, Gradkowski appeared in 10 games for the Panthers and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 33 center out of 37 qualifying players.
