David Newton reports that the Panthers have re-signed S Damian Parms to a one-year contract extension.
Parms was set to be an exclusive rights free agent and spent last season on injured reserve after sustaining a shoulder injury during the preseason.
Parms, 26, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic back in 2015. He lasted one year in Atlanta before he was waived and later signed by the Bills at the start of the 2016 season.
He bounced on and off Buffalo’s practice squad before being signed by the Panthers from their taxi squad. Carolina signed Parms to their practice squad as well in 2017 and re-signed him to a futures contract.
He has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game.
During his college career, Parms recorded 182 tackles, one sack, an interception, eight pass defenses and three forced fumbles.
