According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Panthers have released LB Ben Jacobs on Monday.
Jacobs, 30, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in 2011. He spent over a year in Cleveland before briefly playing for the Bengals and later signing a future/reserve contract with the Panthers at the end of the 2014 season.
The Panthers re-signed Jacobs to a two-year contract in 2017. He was in line to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but this gives him a head start on finding another job.
In 2018, Jacobs appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded six tackles.
