Panthers Release QB Connor Cook From PS, Sign LB Brandon Chubb

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve released QB Connor Cook from their practice squad and signed LB Brandon Chubb to the unit.

Here’s the Panthers updated practice squad:

  3. TE Jason Vander Laan
  4. G Taylor Hearn
  5. OL Dorian Johnson
  6. CB Cole Luke
  7. DT Kendrick Norton
  8. WR DeAndrew White
  9. DB Lorenzo Doss
  10. LB Brandon Chubb

Cook, 24, was taken by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $2.959 million contract and set to earn a base salary of $630,000 this season when the Raiders waived him coming out of the preseason.

Oakland waived Cook at the start of the 2018 season and he later signed on to the Panthers’ practice squad.

In 2016, Cook appeared in one game and thrown for 150 yards while completing 14 of 21 passing attempts to go along with one touchdown and one interception.
