Panthers Sign OL Bryan Witzmann, Place OL Brandon Greene On IR

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve placed OL Brandon Greene on injured reserve and signed OL Bryan Witzmann to a contract.

Witzmann, 29, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Houston before signing on to the Saints’ practice squad a few weeks into the 2015 season.

New Orleans elected to bring him back on a future/reserve contract, but he was unfortunately waived a few weeks after the 2016 draft. Witzmann had brief stints with the Cowboys, Chiefs, Vikings and Bears before signing a one-year contract with the Browns this past March.

Cleveland released Witzmann a few weeks ago and he recently had a brief stint with the Dolphins.

In 2018, Witzmann appeared in all 16 games for the Bears.
