The Carolina Panthers announced the signing veteran S Thomas DeCoud on Thursday.

DeCoud, 28, was cut loose by the Falcons a few months ago, but his market has been slow developing, despite being a Pro Bowler two years ago.
The Panthers need some depth in their secondary and DeCoud could prove to be a good value signing for them.
Last year, he totaled 65 tackles and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has DeCoud rated as the No. 83 safety in the league out of 86 players qualifying players last season.
