Panthers Sign Three Rookies Including First-Round Pick Shaq Thompson

The Carolina Panthers announced Thursday night they’ve signed three draft picks including LB Shaq Thompson, OT Daryl Williams and LB David Mayo to four-year contracts.

While Thompson was a bit of a surprise first-round selection, he completes one of the best linebacker corps in the NFL and provides the Panthers with a long-term to replacement to Thomas Davis.

According to OverTheCap.com, Thompson is projected to receive a four-year contract worth $8,808,726, which includes a signing bonus of $4,666,344.

During his four years at Washington, Thompson recorded 233 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, five interceptions, three forced fumbles, and five defensive touchdowns.
