The Carolina Panthers officially signed WR Ishmael Hyman to a futures contract for the 2020 season on Thursday.
The Panthers have now signed 10 players to futures deals since the season ended including:
- S Quin Blanding
- CB Dominique Hatfield
- TE Temarrick Hemingway
- WR Damion Jeanpiere
- T Tyler Marz
- T Aaron Monteiro
- LB Sione Teuhema
- K Elliott Fry
- RB Marcus Murphy
- WR Ishmael Hyman
Hyman, 24, wound up going undrafted out of James Madison back in 2018. He previously tried out for the Titans during rookie minicamp in 2018, but did not make the roster.
The Browns signed Hyman to a contract last April, but he lasted just a few months in Cleveland. From there, he was on and off of the Buccaneers’ roster.
In 2019, Hyman appeared in two games for the Buccaneers and caught two passes for 34 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
During his four-year career at James Madison, Hyman caught 72 passes for 1061 yards (14.7 YPC) and 11 touchdowns in 48 games.
