The Carolina Panthers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed G Edmund Kugbila on waivers signed DT Chas Alecxih to a contract.
Kugbila, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2013. He wound up spending his first two season on injured reserve due to hamstring and spinal injuries.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Kugbila will free up $470,886 in available cap space while creating $228,228 in dead money.
Unfortunately, Kugbila has yet to appear in an NFL game during his brief professional career.
Alecxih, 26, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He later caught on with the Chiefs for a brief period of time before eventually signing a future/reserve contract with the Chargers back in December of last year.
Alecxih has yet to appear in an NFL game.
