The Panthers announced on Tuesday they have waived WR Greg Dortch.
Dortch was signed to help the Panthers return game, but he fumbled away a kickoff during Carolina’s blowout loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
Dortch, 21, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest back in May. He was waived coming out of the preseason and signed on with New York’s practice squad once passing through waivers unclaimed.
The Panthers signed Dortch off of the Jets practice squad in October before waiving him after a month. Carolina brought him back to the practice squad before promoting him again to the active roster.
In 2019, Dortch appeared in two games for the Panthers and recorded 119 kickoff return yards and 28 punt return yards.
During his college career, Dortch recorded 142 receptions for 1,800 yards receiving (12.7 YPC) and one touchdown to go along with 45 punt returns for 438 yards (9.7 YPR) and two touchdowns to go along with 36 kickoff returns for 773 yards (21.5 YPR) and no touchdowns.
