On Saturday, Patriots executive Nick Caserio told reporters that RB Sony Michel will be activated from the PUP list and in for today’s practice.
Michel has had a number of issues with his knee dating back to his time in college. He missed most of the spring practices but was reportedly making quick progress back to the field.
Michel, 24, was taken with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $9,626,694 contract that includes a $5,081,232 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Patriots to pick up in 2021.
In 2018, Michel appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and rushed 209 times for 931 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 50 yards.
