Mike Reiss of ESPN first reported that the Patriots have claimed S Dewey McDonald off of waivers from the Colts on Wednesday.
McDonald, 25, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of California (PA) back in May of last year. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad.
The Colts ultimately elected to waive McDonald on Tuesday to make room for WR Quan Bray, who was promoted to the 53-man roster.
McDonald has appeared in one games this season and recorded a single tackle for the Colts.
