Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports that the Patriots are among the teams that have shown the most interest in Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert.
However, Howe adds that it remains to be seen whether the Bengals will lower their asking price for Eifert enough to complete a deal with the Patriots.
The Saints have also been linked to Eifert as a potential landing spot in recent weeks.
Eifert, 28, is a first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.256 million contract and finished the 2017 season under the fifth-year option.
The Bengals have brought Eifert back on one-year contracts each of the past two years. He’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2019, Eifert has appeared in eight games and caught 23 passes for 192 yards receiving and one touchdown.
