ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that DE Shaun Ellis has turned down a veteran minimum contract offer from the New York Jets and has signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots.
Ellis has spent his entire career with the Jets so leaving after eleven years for their division rivals is a little surprising. Then again, he’s worth more than the league minimum which likely impacted his decision to join the Patriots.
