The New England Patriots officially placed RB Damien Harris on injured reserve and promoted TE Rashod Berry, DB Michael Jackson, G Ross Reynolds, LB Cassh Maluia and G Ross Reynolds to their active roster.
Harris, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2019. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3,406,136 rookie contract that included an $880,136 signing bonus.
In 2020, Harris appeared in 10 games for the Patriots and rushed for 691 yards on 137 carries (5 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 52 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
Maluia, 22, is a sixth-round pick by the Patriots in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wyoming. He signed a four-year, $3.45 million rookie contract but was among New England’s final roster cuts coming out of training camp.
He re-signed with the Patriots practice squad and was quickly promoted to the active roster. New England elected to waive him back in November and he joined their taxi squad, once again.
During his college career, Maluia recorded 197 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions, seven pass defenses, three fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.
