Patriots Placing DT Vincent Valentine On Injured Reserve

Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Patriots are placing DT Vincent Valentine on injured reserve due to a knee injury.

The Patriots are expected to promote DE Geneo Grissom to their active roster ahead of their Week 3 matchup with the Texans.

Valentine, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3.03 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $540,000 and $630,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Valentine appeared in 13 games for New England and recorded 19 tackles and a sack.
