Field Yates reports that the Patriots are placing RB Sony Michel, G Shaq Mason and DE Derek Rivers on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Jeff Howe adds that Michel tested positive while Mason and Rivers have not, but are being added to the list of caution.
According to Mike Reiss, the Patriots are adding OL Caleb Benenoch, DE Rashod Berry, WR Isaiah Zuber and DT Nick Thurman to their active roster.
It’s worth mentioning that the Patriots placed C James Ferentz on the COVID-19 list earlier in the week.
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Michel, 25, was taken with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $9,626,694 contract that includes a $5,081,232 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Patriots to pick up in 2021.
In 2020, Michel has appeared in three games for the Patriots and rushed for 173 yards on 26 carries (6.7 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 23 yards and one touchdown.
