Adam Schefter reports that Patriots RB Rex Burkhead did not tear his ACL during Sunday’s game against the Steelers. However, it’s possible he could still miss some time with this knee injury.
Burkhead was tackled during the third quarter and Steelers’ defenders immediately called to the sideline for help.
Burkhead, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $2,262,200 contract with the Bengals before signing a one-year, $3.15 million contract with the Patriots this past March.
Burkhead will be an unrestricted free agent again in 2018.
Entering today’s game, Burkhead had rushed for 252 yards on 60 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 249 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns.
We’ll have more regarding Burkhead’s injury as the news is available.
