Patriots RB Sony Michel Underwent Knee Scope, Should Be Back For Camp

According to Jeff Howe, Patriots RB Sony Michel missed spring OTA’s and minicamp because of a knee scope.

Howe says Michel is expected to be back and ready for training camp.

Michel has had issues with his knee dating back to his time in college. He had a procedure to drain fluid from his knee last August that ended up keeping him out of the preseason and the first regular season game.

In Week 10, Michel’s knee was rolled up during a game against the Bears. There was, fortunately, no structural damage, but Michel did miss the next two games.

Michel, 24, was taken with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Patriots. According to OverTheCap.com, he received a four-year, $9,626,694 contract that includes a $5,081,232 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Patriots to pick up in 2021.

In 2018, Michel appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and rushed 209 times for 931 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 50 yards.
