The New England Patriots re-signedย RB Kenjon Barner on Monday, according to Doug Kyed.
Barner, 29, is a former sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2013. He spent just over a year in Carolina before he was traded to the Eagles in return for a conditional seventh-round pick that did not meet the qualifications.
The Eagles waived him with an injury settlement at the start of the 2014 season and later brought him back on a future/reserve contract. After Philadelphia declined to tender him a restricted offer, he signed a one-year contract with the Chargers.
After a briefย stint with the Eagles during the 2017 season, Barner signed on with the Panthers this past May but was cut loose at the start of the season.
Barner has been on and off of the Patriots’ roster this season.
In 2018, Barner has appeared in one game for the Patriots and rushed for 11 yards on three carries (3.7 YPC) and no touchdowns.
