The Patriots announced the release of TE Ben Hartsock just four days after signing him to a contract.
New England signed two other tight ends — Steve Maneri and Terrence Miller — earlier in the week, so it appears as though the Patriots would prefer to see they have to offer in the coming weeks and give Hartsock a chance to secure another opportunity.
Hartsock, 34, is an eleven-year veteran who previously played for the Colts, Titans, Falcons, Jets and Panthers. Last year, he appeared in 13 games for the Panthers, but didn’t record a single statistic.
