Jim McBride is reporting that the Patriots are releasing C Russell Bodine on Friday and re-signing OL James Ferentz.
It’s somewhat surprising to see the Patriots move on from Bodine just a week after they gave up a sixth-round pick for him.
Bodine, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,676,456 contract before agreeing to a two-year contract with the Bills last year.
The Patriots traded a sixth-round pick to the Bills for Bodine last week.
In 2018, Bodine appeared in 10 games for the Bills, making 10 starts before being placed on injured reserve.
