Albert Breer is reporting that the Patriots are releasing veteran K Mike Nugent on Tuesday.
Nugent, 37, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2005. He spent the past six seasons with the Bengals and was in the final year of his two-year, $3.5 million contract when the Bengals cut him loose in December of 2016.
The Giants signed Nugent to a contract during the season but he was cut loose soon after and caught on with the Bears. The Raiders signed Nugent to a contract during the 2018 preseason before he eventually landed on injured reserve.
Nugent signed with the Patriots a few weeks ago.
