Browns, Patriots, Chargers, Jaguars & Cowboys Worth Watching For Gerald McCoy

Adam Schefter mentions that the Browns, Patriots, Chargers, Jaguars and Cowboys among others could make sense as potential landing spots for recently released DT Gerald McCoy.

McCoy would like to sign with a playoff contender and still make money, so depending on what he prioritizes most, these could figure to be some teams to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Patriots have shown interest in signing McCoy and reuniting him with DE Michael Bennett.

McCoy, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He was in the fifth year of his seven-year, $95.2 million contract and set to make a base salary of $13 million in 2019 when the Buccaneers released him.

In 2018, McCoy appeared in 14 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 28 tackles, six sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 interior defender out of 112 qualifying players.
