The New England Patriots signed CB Rashaan Melvin to their practice squad and released DB Chris Greenwood from the 10-man unit, according to the NFL transactions release.
The Patriots’ practice squad now consists of:
- CB Rashaan Melvin
- LB Eric Martin
- WR Chris Harper
- DT Kelcy Quarles
- WR Austin Hill
- G Chris Barker
- OL Keavon Milton
- OL Torrian Wilson
- FB Joey Iosefa
Melvin, 26, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in 2013. He later caught on with the Dolphins for a brief period of time before being signed off of Miami’s practice squad by the Ravens.
The Patriots claimed Melvin off of waivers from the Ravens back in October before being cut loose just a few days ago.
This season, has appeared in nine games and recorded seven tackles for the Patriots.
