The New England Patriots officially signed RB Henry Poggi to a contract on Wednesday and placed TE Shane Wimann placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers.
Poggi, 23, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan back in May. However, he lasted just over a month in Oakland before the team elected to cut him loose.
During his four-year college career at Michigan, Poggi caught nine passes for 68 yards receiving to go along with two carries for six rushing yards and a touchdown over the course of 14 games.
