Patriots Sign K Stephen Gostkowski To A Four-Year Deal Worth $17.2M

Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports that the Patriots and franchise K Stephen Gostkowski have reached an agreement on a four-year contract worth around $17 million.

There hadn’t been a lot of buzz regarding a long-term deal between the Patriots and Gostkowski, but it was certainly a possibility as he’s one of the best kickers in the NFL and teams have shown a willingness to pay kickers in recent years.

Gostkowski, 31, was set to make $4.59 million for the 2015 season under the franchise tag tender.

In 2014, he converted 35 of 37 field goal attempts and all 51 extra point attempts for the Patriots. Pro Football Focus has Gostkowski rated as the No. 21 kicker in the league last year.
