Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports that the Patriots have signed S Brock Vereen to their practice squad on Wednesday.
- New England also signed TE Joseph Fauria and DB Chris Greenwood to the unit.
- The Patriots released DBs Ross Ventrone and Dewey McDonald to make room for the new additions.
Vereen, 23, was taken in the fourth round of last yearโs NFL draft, so his time in Chicago was obviously short lived. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,611,500 rookie contract when the Bears cut him loose over a month ago.
The Vikings later signed him to their practice squad before waiving him last week.
This season, Vereen has appeared in three games for the Bears, but has yet to record a single statistic.
