Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Patriots have signed WR DeMarcus Ayers to their practice squad on Monday.
The Patriots’ practice squad now consists of:
- LB Trevor Bates
- OL James Ferentz (Exception)
- RB D.J. Foster
- DL Geno Grissom (Exception)
- WR Cody Hollister
- DB David Jones
- OL Ted Karras (Exception)
- DL Darius Kilgo (Exception)
- DB Damarius Travis
- WR DeMarcus Ayers
Ayers, 23, is a former seventh-round pick of the Steelers back in 2016. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason last year and later signed to the Steelers’ practice squad.
Pittsburgh eventually called him to their active roster in December.
In 2016, Ayers appeared in two games and caught six passes for 53 yards receiving and a touchdown.
