Patriots Signing TE Eric Tomlinson

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Patriots are signing TE Eric Tomlinson to their active roster with Matt LaCosse dealing with a knee injury.

Tomlinson, 27, originally signed on with the Eagles in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of UTEP. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts, but later signed a future/reserve deal with the Texans.

Houston waived Tomlinson at the start of the 2016 regular season and he was later signed off of their practice squad by the Jets before eventually being added to their active roster.

New York declined to tender Tomlinson a restricted offer this offseason and he later had a brief stint with the Jets before signing on with the Giants soon after. He was released a few weeks ago.

In 2019, Tomlinson has appeared in three games for the Giants, but has yet to catch a pass.
