Jim McBride reports that the Patriots have re-signed rookie free agent WR Will Hastings, who they released on Sunday.
The Patriots have a few open roster spots now to work with, so it makes sense to bring back a player they recently cut before they got a chance to evaluate him.
Hastings, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Auburn back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $2.28 million with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent before being released on Sunday.
Hastings also has a background as a kicker.
During his four-year career at Auburn, Hastings appeared in 28 games and recorded 56 catches for 845 yards (15.1 YPC) and six touchdowns.
