Raiders Activate Rookie CB Gareon Conley From PUP List

Raiders first-round CBย Gareon Conley returned to practice on Tuesday, according to Michael Gehlken, which he passed a physical and has been activated from the team’s PUP list.

Conley, 21, was selected with the No. 21 overall pick by the Raiders in this year’s NFL draft. Conley was considered to be one of the top cornerbacks in this year’s draft class with an opportunity to be the first player at his position to come off the board.

However, reports surfaced that he was facing rape allegations just a few days before the draft, which led to questions as to whether he would even be drafted. The Raiders explained that had done extensive work on the matter and believe Conley to be innocent and he was eventually cleared in the matter.

According to OverTheCap.com, Conley will receiveย a four-year contract worth $10,467,662, which includes a signing bonus of $5,752,844. The contract also has a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.

During his college career at Ohio State, Conley recorded 91 tackles, a half sack, six interceptions, and 15 pass defenses over the course of 35 games.
