Ian Rapoport of NFL.com believes there’s a good chance that the Raiders will part ways with QB Carson Palmer if he’s unwilling to take a pay cut in the next few days.
Palmer, 33, is set to make a base salary of $13 million next season and with plenty already being made about the Raiders’ terrible financial situation, there appears to be a chance that they could move forward with Terrelle Pryor and possibly a rookie next season.
Oakland stands to gain close to $6 million in cap space if they were to cut Palmer loose.
Rapoport adds that Palmer could sign on with a team who’s willing to give him an opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job.
