Raiders Could Pursue Signing Former Seahawks DT Tony McDaniel

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie told reporters on Monday that they aren’t done trying to improve their roster and are always looking for new players who could help them.

According to McKenzie, “there is a chance” they Raiders pursue former Seahawks DT Tony McDaniel, who was released this past weekend, via ESPN.com.

Bill Williamson notes that McDaniel played for Raiders HC Jack Del Rio while in Jacksonville several years ago and has spent time working with Oakland DC Ken Norton Jr. during their time together in Seattle.

McDaniel, 30, had one year remaining on his two-year, $5.75 million contract when the Seahawks cut him loose in what appeared to be cap-driven decision.

In 2014, McDaniel appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 31 tackles, a pass defense and a safety.
