Josina Anderson spoke with free agent S Tre Boston, who mentioned that he expects to be in the second wave of safety signings.
According to Anderson, three teams including the Raiders reached to Boston to express some preliminary interest.
Last night, reports mentioned that the Raiders will be signing Rams S Lamarcus Joyner, but it appears they haven’t ruled out adding another safety.
Boston, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2,625,468 contract when the Panthers cut him in 2017.
Boston later caught on with the Chargers shortly after the 2017 draft and agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals lat summer.
In 2018, Boston appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and recorded 79 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
