The Oakland Raiders announced Tuesday that the’ve placed rookie S Obi Melifonwu and G/T Denver Kirkland on injured reserve and signed LB Xavier Woodson-Luster and S Erik Harris to contracts.
Melifonwu, 23, was selected by the Raiders with the No. 56 overall pick. According to OverTheCap.com, Melifonwu will receive a four-year contract worth $4,509,376, which includes a signing bonus of $1,419,544.
During his four-year college career at Connecticut, Melifonwu recorded 349 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, 16 pass defenses, two fumble recoveries, and two forced fumble.
