Raiders Place S Jonathan Dowling On I.R. & Promote TE Scott Simonson

The Oakland Raiders have officially signed  rookie TE Scott Simonson to their active roster and placed S Jonathan Dowling on season-ending injured reserve, according to Vic Tafur.

Dowling, 22, was the Raiders seventh-round pick back in May out of Western Kentucky. His rookie season comes to an end with him appearing in seven games and recording four tackles while playing a total of 13 snaps, according Pro Football Focus.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Raiders have promoted rookie TE Scott Simonson to their active roster on Friday.

Simonson, 22, signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Assumption back in May. He was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was later signed to the practice squad where he has remained until now.

During his final season at Assumption, Simonson caught 39 passes for 604 yards and five tuchodwns over the course of 11 games.
