Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Raiders are not expected to have rookie RB Josh Jacobs for Week 17’s matchup, given that he’s dealing with a shoulder injury and underwent surgery for a skin infection on Thursday.
The Raiders are still in the mix for a wildcard spot, but they will have to get it done without their No. 1 running back.
Jacobs, 21, was selected with the No. 24 overall pick by the Raiders out of Alabama this past April. He later agreed to a four-year, $11,933,394 rookie contract that included a $6,698,832 signing bonus.
The Raiders will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Jacobs for the 2023 season.
In 2019, Jacobs has appeared in 13 games for the Raiders and rushed for 1,150 yards on 242 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 166 yards receiving and seven total touchdowns.
