Nelson, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract before signing on with the Raiders this past March.
In 2019, Nelson has appeared in two games for the Raiders and caught four passes for 36 yards receiving and one touchdown.
Ateman, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2018. He agreed to a four-year, $2.55 million contract, but was waived by the Raiders coming out of the preseason last year.
Oakland later signed Ateman to their practice squad after he cleared waivers before promoting him to their active roster. The Raiders cut him loose earlier in the week.
For his career, Ateman has appeared in eight games and caught 15 passes for 154 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Raiders.
