Raiders Sign WR David Gilreath

The Oakland Raiders have signed former Steelers WR David Gilreath, according to his agent Sean Stellato.

Gilreath, 25, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in 2011, but he lasted just a few months with the team before he was ultimately waived.

The Steelers would later sign him to their practice squad in 2012. Gilreath would later be promoted to the team’s active roster December of that year and go on to appear in three games during the 2012 season.

There is no question that the Raiders could use some extra competition at the receiver position during OTAs and ahead of training camp.

As things stand right now, it appears as though James JonesDenarius MooreRod Streater and Juron Criner will be the team’s top-four receivers entering training camp. Oakland also added former second-round pick Greg Little to their roster a few weeks ago.

Beyond them, Gilreath will have to compete with Andre HolmesBrice Butler, Gregory Jenkins, Mike Davis and Jared Green for a potential roster spot.
