Michael Gehlken reports that the Raiders plan to promote WR Marcell Ateman to their active roster this week after they traded WR Amari Cooper to the Cowboys on Monday.
Ateman, 24, was selected in the seventh round of this year’s draft by the Raiders. He agreed to a four-year, $2.55 million contract, but was waived by the Raiders coming out of the preseason.
Oakland later signed Ateman to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.
During his four-year college career at Oklahoma State, Ateman caught 146 passes for 2,466 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns over the course of 43 games.
