The Oakland Raiders officially waived QB Christian Hackenberg and LB Brady Sheldon on Tuesday.
This means that the Jets won’t receive the conditional seventh-round pick they got from the Raiders for Hackenberg.
Hackenberg, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2016. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $4.7 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.08 million for the 2018 season.
The Jets tradedย Hackenberg to the Raiders last month for a conditional seventh-round pick.
During his three-year college career at Penn State, Hackenberg threw for 8,457 yards while completing 56.1 percent of his passes to go along with 48 touchdowns and 31 interceptions.
Hackenberg has yet to appear in an NFL game.
