The Los Angeles Rams announced Monday that they’ve activated rookie OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo from the physically unable to perform list and waived LB Trevon Young.
Okoronkwo, 23, was taken with the No. 160 overall pick in the fifth-round of this year’s draft by the Rams. Los Angeles actually traded up with the Broncos and sent two sixth-round picks to Denver as part of the deal to select Okoronkwo.
Okoronkwo underwent foot surgery a few weeks after the draft.
During his four-year college career at Oklahoma, Okoronkwo recorded 162 tackles, 33 tackles for a loss, 20 sacks, five forced fumbles, two recoveries and five pass defenses over the course of 35 games.
